ICRA 2019 RoboMaster AI Challenge

NavigationPerceptionReinforcement LearningCompetition

The RoboMaster AI Challenge is an international robotics competition for university teams, held at ICRA. As captain of Roboin, Yonsei University’s representative team, I led the software development for our robots.

  • Developed the autonomous navigation stack, optimizing the Dynamic Window Approach (DWA) for path planning and integrating YOLOv3 for real-time perception.
  • Built gimbal aiming control with PID and designed behavior policies using reinforcement learning (DQN, DDPG) and decision trees for collaborative multi-robot behavior in simulation.
  • Our technical report received an S+ rank (top 4 of 68 universities) and the team won 3rd prize in the finals among 39 teams.
